The Eco Committee have been looking into getting a bin installed outside the Spar.

They held a poster competition and wrote a letter to the Community Council.

We have a very enthusiastic and energetic Eco Committee comprising of children, teachers, parents and Governors.

 

In June 2015 we were awarded the very prestigious Platinum Flag -

We are now one of only 4 schools in Monmouth​shire to have this award

THIRD GREEN FLAG!

 

This year marks the final chapter in our Eco journey.

In July 2015 we will be assessed for our final, Platinium, Eco Flag!

Our work during 2014/2015 includes:

 

An Eco greenhouse made from wood and recycled plastic bottles​ - our Reception class already have plants growing inside

 

 

March 2015 - Working with Richard from Project Nest Box - Year 4 and Key Stage 2 Eco Reps

24th March 2015 - Three of our youngest Eco Reps planted an apple tree in our school grounds

The tree was awarded to Goytre Fawr Primary School as the prize for an Eco competition

that our Year 3 and 4 children entered last year.

During June 2015 Year 1 and Year 4 worked together to create a fantastic piece of natural art.

They started by looking for inspiration in nature - spotting colours and patterns.  Then they buddied up, drew their designs on paper and finally worked together to paint their designs on logs - kindly donated by a local tree surgeon.  Lots of the paints they used were donated by B&Q too.
